A few weeks passed by with no further sign of Ariya, as I continued this strange quest for a mystical key. I didn’t know where I was going, or perhaps I did. At any rate, one morning while I was wading through a flooded area after a heavy thunderstorm, I found myself sinking. The more I struggled, the deeper I sank. Conqueror started in but I commanded him to hold, while I remained motionless and tried to think. I knew that quicksand likes its victims to struggle, so I remained still, but nevertheless, I was slowly sinking, as I frantically looked for something to grab on to. No branches were within reach in the middle of this mud hole where I found myself, so I tried a swimming motion with my arms, which proved nearly disastrous as I sank to within inches of my nose. Conqueror headed in, disobeying my orders, and began sinking as well, but got close enough so that I was able to grab his mane and hold myself up. Now we were both sinking. Suddenly, a tree oddly uprooted itself from the side of the pit and fell directly across it, near enough for me to reach. Except for his head, Conqueror remained submerged however, and with all my strength, I held his head above the mud with one arm, while struggling to hold onto the tree with the other. We were both stuck, but at least for now, we were not sinking. The day dragged on interminably. We were unable to move, and even with a team of horses, Conqueror was too heavy to pull out of the quicksand. As night fell, my arms were shaking from fatigue. I knew that I couldn’t hold on much longer, and just as I was thinking that I would rather sink myself than let my horse slide beneath the murky mud, the entire forest abruptly lit up as if on fire . . . a blue-green fire. Ariya merely pointed to the quicksand, and as soon as she did, Conqueror and I found ourselves standing in the middle of a vast field filled with waves of violet flowers, so brilliant that they brought tears to my eye. How could anything that beautiful exist? It was as if Ariya was giviong me a glimpse of what may lie ahead. A moment later, we were back in the forest beside the quicksand pit and our life-saving tree was standing tall beside the bank as if nothing had ever happened. “My great king, you certainly have a knack for getting yourself into trouble, don’t you? Ariya smiled. “Does this come naturally or do you have to work at it?” She never seemed serious about my encounters, probably because, for one thing, she never worried, and for another, she probably already knew my destiny, even though I was working it out as I went. “How did that tree happen to uproot itself,” I skeptically asked. “Trees know,” she replied. “Well I don’t know,” I protested. “If you are my helper being, why won’t you answer all of my questions?” “Because your questions are foolish, as you will find out for yourself someday.” “Well they don’t seem foolish to me right now! Can’t you at least answer one or two, since you are already here saving my life again anyway?” “Very well my king,” she smiled. “Let me begin this way; there is the unthinkable. It never had a beginning and will never end. For a better word, I will call this unthinkable the original Source consciousness of everything that ever was or ever will be, or we could call it Reality. I’m explaining things simply so that your present consciousness, which is quite limited, can understand. Is that Okay?” “Yes,” I replied. “Now, the unimaginable love that this Source emits cannot be contained, so it flows outwards. It then accumulates various characteristics in its travels; creating both physical and immaterial existences in such quantity and variety, they are beyond description. “One of these forms, a human being, eventually develops enough intelligence to recognize it is separated from the pure awareness of this Reality from whence it has sprung. Humans accomplish this separation by muddying up the pure awareness of Reality with worldly pursuits. When this recognition occurs, and it happens intuitively and unbeknownst to the muddied-up mind, a natural yearning for a reunion with Reality develops. This longing then develops into an effort to return, but at this point, the human has no idea where he or she is returning to or how to get there.” “Why does the Source not simply keep human awareness clear, then beings would not have to go through all this trouble to return,” I asked.” “Because the Source is not a creator God.” “Then answer me this, Ariya,” I said, pointing to the stars, “Why all this; why not just nothing?” With a broad smile, Ariya then said that she was convinced that I possessed the required intelligence to find the key, because the question I asked was the primary philosophical question of intelligent beings in every sphere; “Why not just nothing?” “Okay, you have asked a good question, the classic question; Why not nothing?’ Are you ready for your answer,” she playfully inquired. “Ready!” I said. This was more like it. I was getting some real answers now! “Okay, here is your answer my king. Since the Source is pure love and since this kind of love cannot be contained,” she explained, “love has no choice but to flow outwardly. This love flows out - again, words are inadequate here, but it’s the best I can do with your limited language and intelligence, no offense - the love flows out in waves of love, each having freewill just as the Source does. These waves become heavier as they travel, eventually turning into energy before exploding into matter. This resulting matter, originally from the Source’s love, has no alternative but to return to that Source someday. You see, everything cycles, and every act of love must be returned. This is a law, and this return begins for humanity when the longing in certain human beings of higher consciousness becomes overwhelming, leaving them no choice but to seek a way back to the pure consciousness of the true Reality.” What Ariya was saying explained perfectly the ache that I felt, and the quest for the key must be its promised resolution. It is difficult to explain this feeling, almost as if something had been lost, but I did not know what it was or when I lost it, as if I was in a fog. I just knew that this gnawing feeling deep inside would persist until I got it back. Ariya continued, “The Source breathes out and his love creates all things, then the Source breathes in and all is returned. The time in human reckoning required for one breath of the Source is, however, unimaginable, so it will be eons before the Source breathes in and all is returned.” “If all is returned,” I objected, “why go through this arduous effort to find the key? I’ll just wait!” “When the Source breathes in,” she continued without missing a beat, “the material universe collapses back into pure energy, then returns to its Source, but this will be a long time from now, a very long time. Instead of suffering thousands upon thousands of human rebirths where you will be faced with the pain of birth, then the struggle of survival and eventually death, why not escape physical form forever in this very lifetime? “Unfortunately, this longing to return to your loving Source, to Reality, cannot be understood by human beings of undeveloped consciousness. They feel a longing too, of course, but because they are spiritually immature, they mistakenly believe that the world can satisfy that longing, not grasping the immensity of the Source. Consequently, this is where they spend every moment of their time, playing with things of the world. Since their understanding is fundamentally flawed, they keep banging their heads against the wall of this world, acquiring uncountable things but suffering untold disappointments, hoping for fulfillment and happiness. You see; they are looking in the wrong place, trying to find gold in the barnyard and only finding horse shit.” Conqueror stomped his foot but I could not help smiling at Ariya’s candor. She was fascinating. I could not believe her wealth of knowledge and her capacity to impart it. Suddenly, I heard the unmistakable “thunk” of a crossbow, followed by that unique sound an arrow makes as it zips through leaves. Before I could react, however, I found myself in a vast desert surrounded by stars and silence. The constellations were strange. I could make out the “Southern Cross” that I had seen drawings of, sketched by mariners who ventured to the far southern reaches of the world, but I had no idea where I was. “There are those who seek power as you did, my great king, and they will go to great lengths to secure it. You have many enemies, both from kingdoms you have conquered and from your own court, which, by the way, has now taken control of Ayatana. They fear your return and your resumption of power, so they have dispatched soldiers to kill you, secretly placing a bounty on your head. These warriors and mercenaries will be paid well for your demise, so you must be alert at all times. I will protect you when I am near, but I cannot guarantee your safety at all times, therefore, you must be always observant. I have now taken you very far from your assailants, but soon you will be back in your forest where they will persist. All of this results from your past actions, which I am powerless to change.” With an impish look she then said, “I must go now. You are in a safe area. As long as your heart aches for something with such pain that emotion overwhelms you unexpectedly for no apparent reason, and the sight of flowers with colors so deep brings you to tears; then you need not overly concern yourself with danger, but don’t be foolish. The thing you ache for is always near. Look for it when you smile at a baby, and in its innocence, it smiles back, and with no words spoken you stare at each other in wonderment. “Stay true to your quest, my king . . .until we meet again.” I looked up and the Southern Cross was gone, replaced by the familiar star patterns of my old forest. I was back. ( To be continued) ——————————————————————————– E. Link Exchanges are a very time consuming project. The time it takes to find the sites to exchange with, contact them and place a link on your page can seem like an eternity. The hardest part about link exchanges isn’t the research, it’s the waiting. This article will give you some tips to help speed response time to your requests. “How long does it normally take?” you ask. The average wait can be 2 to 3 weeks, sometimes even longer. The reason for this is that many people operate their web site as a hobby or side business and may not be on top of their email. Keep these timeframes in mind before you judge the successfulness of a link campaign. The first step is to find sites related to your web site that DO NOT have a large directory of links posted. You want to link to sites that have less than 100 links on their link page. Their Page Rank (PR) should be at least equal to yours. Higher is better, so always aim for the heavy hitters. Now, on to the business of saving you time. Once you have located a site to contact, send a short but poignant email. If your email is too long, it may not be read. What should be in your email? First of all, your email should be personalized. Don’t send the same email to dozens of people, send one at a time. This will help avoid being thought of as a spammer. The personalized touch shows you are serious and that the email was sent by a real person. Nothing says “this is of little importance to me” like a form letter, so avoid using them. The letter should also include: The HTML code to your text ad. This will make it easier for people to add your link to their site. A link to your link page. This will make easier for whom ever you are requesting a link from to find your page. Also, if they ask for you to link first, do so. If you have already been to their site (and certainly you should have if you are requesting a link), you will more than likely know if they want a good faith link up. The email you send them should have a confirmation that their link is up and that you are requesting a reciprocal link. Once you make contact with the web site owner, how long will you wait? A week? Two weeks? Honestly, it may be a month before you see your link unless you show some persistence. It doesn’t always depend on how often they do updates. I would contact them once a week after your initial inquiry after checking their site first. They may have placed a link up without notifying you. So, in summary: Spend time finding sites that will be an asset to your enterprise to save time by not corresponding with those that won’t. Succinct, personalized E-mails Include all coding and links necessary to make it easy on the site you want to exchange with Research their link policy ahead of time Be persistent Link exchanges are very time consuming. It takes patients and great recorded keeping to keep track of who has and has not added you. I do this with an excel spread sheet. It makes keeping track a lot easier to do. Especially, if you are doing large link campaigns. Good luck. For more information on SEO visit mr-seo.blogspot.com Or, mrseonewz.blogspot.com/ for the latest on SEO news. So you’ve decided to get a website that’s optimized for search engines. You’re no dummy. You want your website to show up any time a search is conducted in your area of expertise. Who can blame you? But wait. Be prepared for twists and turns ahead. The Bible says, “My people perish from lack of knowledge.” This is also true in the technical world of search engine marketing. Your lack of understanding of how search engines find websites can be detrimental to your success. In effect, you could lose your website investment, and lose again by not being at the top of the engines later. If your website is built and written correctly, you will experience a positive return on your website investment that pays dividends for years to come. Before you start correcting the website content created for you by The Marketing Shop, or any webmaster experienced in SEO, make sure you have a firm grasp of search engine optimization. If you have a question about something that looks peculiar, ask your designer before you spend too much time fretting. Chances are–if it’s on your website–it’s there for a purpose. Writing a website is a delicate balance between pleasing people and computers. Strike the right balance and you’ll find your website at the top of the search engines, converting your website traffic into loyal clients. Miss the mark and your site will be in no man’s land without a word to say. Here are a few things to know about search engine optimization before reading your website content for the first time: Keywords are Paramount. If your website does not have the keyword content that people are using for search, it will not show up in search results, period. This is not quantum physics. Computers are machines. They can only pick up text. It’s crucial that we analyze what people are typing into the search engines and build your website content accordingly. Keyword Research is Necessary. The Marketing Shop performs extensive keyword research for all our web marketing clients. We want to know exactly what people are typing in what into the search engines to find products and services like yours. Based upon our expertise in search engine optimization, we determine the best keywords and phrases to optimize on your site. We have many different calculations that we use to determine which keywords to optimize for and rest assured we’ve done our homework on the best keywords for the current development phase of your website. Headings Must Be Search Engine Optimized. The headings of your website impact your website search engine optimization. It is important that they read in a precise way in order for you to “score points” with the search engines and rank higher in search results. There are at least three levels of headings (h1, h2 and h3). If you’re keywords aren’t here, your page won’t be optimized. We try to maintain a balance by writing headings that are search engine optimized, and compelling for the reader. A headline sets up the structure of the page and entices people to read further. We try to do both wherever possible. Your Page Layout Must Be Search Engine Optimized. Everything about your website must be optimized for search or you may loose valuable opportunities to gain new customers. Our websites have generally the same layout because our research has shown the layout to be most effective for SEO. While there are probably many better ways to layout your website, we prefer the way that the search engines prefer in effort to attract website traffic. Your Navigation Will Make or Break Your Search Rankings. The navigation on your website is integral to your website for a variety of reasons. First, it contains links that help the search engine spiders get to where they need to go on your site. Second, it contains keywords that help your website get indexed for search queries. We strive to create intuitive and easy to use navigation systems that are search engine optimized. Much thought goes into the creation of your navigation. Though it may see strange, your navigation is built for search engines and people. Whenever possible, we will add keywords and key phrases to each and every link of your navigation. Here are some bizarre things you may encounter on your SEO navigation: Repetition Keywords: It’s important to put keywords everywhere, including the navigation system. Not only do the keywords score points for being there, but the link itself scores double points for linking to the page it’s linking to. Re-Phrasing of Terminology: Sometimes we will need to breakdown the way you phrase something in order to make it match with what people are searching for in the search engines. If our research shows that people are not searching for a given term, we will change it to suit the search queries of the customers you want to win. Localization is A Sticky Situation. Many of The Marketing Shop website clients are those seeking web marketing in local vicinity. We do our best to bring you customers only from the area you request. However, there are times when our keyword research concludes that people are just not searching for your local area and we have to optimize more broadly. If this is the case, rest assured that targeting the broader area will still render results in your local area due to our expertise in local web marketing. Each Page is Only Optimized for One or Two Phrases. The most successful web pages for search engines are optimized for only one or two keyword phrases. That means the title is about one thing and the page contains the same keywords sprinkled throughout with plenty of links reflecting the same keywords too. Images are Invisible to Search Engines. If you were expecting a website to be a lead-generator that has more visual appeal and aesthetic stimulation, please reconsider. Images are invisible to search engines. Studies also show that people want information when they come on the web as opposed to a colorful “website brochure.” Content is King. Content is king for a variety of reasons including for search engine optimization, for website conversion enhancement and for inclusion into Google. Search Engines: Search engines can read only text. It makes sense to keep fresh, relevant content on your site for search engine crawlers. Website Conversion Enhancement: People are on the web to get information, not to read brochures. The more information you provide for them, the “stickier” your website becomes and the more people will bookmark your site and rely on it for pertinent information. (See article on web content.) Also, people who get free and valuable information from your website are more likely to rely and depend upon you when they’re ready to purchase goods and services. It’s a “give before you get” mentality that really works. Offer information and your website visitors will reward you with loyalty. Another way good web content affects your website’s conversion capabilities is by showing your clients how you operate. Your web content is very telling as to the goods and services you provide. If you skimp on your content and your competitor does not, your competitor will win the business. Your prospects may wonder why you’re not offering adequate information. Do you not know what you’re doing? Do you have something to hide? Will you skimp later? It’s best to just ante up the info immediately. Google has strict requirements for its top search result contenders, including inclusion in the DMOZ. The DMOZ is a human edited directory that requires unique and informative content as a barrier to entry. We’re in the Information Age, time to step it up and provide useful information. The World is changing and Your Customer is Well Informed. Why bother creating websites that are valuable to our website visitors? Because your customer is different today than ever before. Information is readily available to everyone. The person who gives out information most efficiently is the one people will rely on to do business with in the future. Customers are well informed, savvy and able to get information at the click of a mouse. We need to step out of the box and cater to the new consumer. SEO Sites Can is Tacky. There are websites out there that try to capitalize on knowledge of search engine optimization by adding keywords flagrantly and abusing the system. The Marketing Shop will never do that as we rely only on ethical search engine optimization techniques. We care more about people than we do about search engine rankings. The only time we’ll put machines over people is when it’s very important to the overall SEO success of your website. Other times, we try to appeal human visitors most of all. Conclusion Before you get started makes sure you understand what it takes to get to the top of the search engines. Good foundational knowledge in SEO will help your site be more successful, and save your web designer and SEO professional a ton of headaches in trying to get you to understand what’s what. Please understand that The Marketing Shop will do nothing to your website without having a good reason for doing so. Please ask questions before you get frustrated. Everyone, even the most successful of writer’s, goes through writers block at some point or another. It’s hard enough to write when you have a muse, so what happens without one? Experts relate this mental block of creativity to a subconscious sense of fear - fear of the unknown or a lack of courage to submit to the flow of your extensive imagination. Either way, your rather theatrical slump needs to be wrestled with - and soon! Time is always of the essence so let’s take a look at a few quick tips that may help you out… •Keep a journal - Simple as it may sound, when you keep a daily journal of your thoughts and feelings, you force yourself to write each day. Remember, this writing is just for you, so don’t fuss with spelling and grammar
Recent studies have shown that an applicant’s resume gets 7 seconds before it is judged (good or bad) by a potential employer. Knowing this, it becomes clear just how important a good resume is. During my 6 plus years of reviewing resumes professionally I have seen a lot of mistakes, misspellings, missteps and miscues along the way. There are a lot of job opportunities and information like, job internship programs, for job seekers available at .internzoo.com . Do not miss the job opportunities coming your way by avoiding these 5 basic mistakes: 1) The first, and most important, is poor writing. Things like typos, misspellings, verb tenses mixed and sentences butchered. A potential employer will not struggle to get through your resume. Your resume must be easy to read; 7 seconds, remember? 2) Second, you need to use an easy-to-scan format; something one can glance over and have key details stand out. You should limit the amount of fancy formatting you do. Just because you can manipulate all of Microsoft Word’s functions doesn’t mean you have to show it here. Keep it clean and simple. Put enough detail in to sell yourself just as a job seeker, but no more. 3) Third, and this is closely related to formatting, do not over write. This is a trap all amateur writers fall into. The best authors know less is more, and what works for books works for resumes too. Too often I have read resumes that have huge paragraphs of text explaining every single detail about their current job or even the company they currently work for. Employers and recruiters are not going to wade through volumes of text when they have another 100 or so resumes to get through. They need to know quickly and easily what you have done and what you can do. Most often a short bulleted list accomplishes this best. 4) Fourth, you need to tell potential employers what you are capable of doing. Instead of just describing past jobs/internships, you need to list your achievements and what you have done beyond the requirements of the position. 5) Fifth, there is more than one type of resume. While just about every job seeker writing their own resume tries to make their professional life fit a chronological format, it simply is not the way to go for many people. Experiment a little bit, and find the style that fits you best. If you don’t have much work experience then you might want to include an extracurricular activity section. The most important thing to remember is that your resume is error free and easy to read, remember it has only 7 seconds to shine. Job seekers can find jobs & more useful information at .internzoo.com
3:45AM - Diary Start - Why should I go to South Korea just to teach English to students, when in fact, I could land a teaching job right here in my hometown of Ohio? Surely it never occurred to me that I would be making this kind of choice right after college. But now I’m faced with the dilemma, which my peers would call an opportunity, to travel halfway around the world just to give some students a way forward at English. It never occurred to me that I have a shot at teaching, though I just graduated with a degree in Psychology. Being born in an English-speaking nation can be a real plus. I’m happy that my being just an English-speaker could land me a job in Asia. One part of me is saying that I should grab this opportunity. The company I’m going to work for, .Worknplay.co.kr, gave me quite an offer. They will be paying for my air fare, not to mention my lodging. On top of that I get to receive a good amount of money, just for teaching English, and giving South Korean students a shot at “global competitiveness.” I’m really starting to believe that teaching is a noble profession, and that the opportunity to teach and command instruction to young children could afford me a worthwhile activity. Now the other part of me is saying that this could be a risky take. Though I’m not really a pessimist, I do have this belief that you’re safer enough once you’re on your own turf, rather than go and travel a thousand miles to a get a shot at a career, much more, a life. But I’m not putting a final say at this part of me. I am merely taking into consideration of the thousand or so possibilities, the risks, and the chances that await me in South Korea. I’m not saying I’m confused, I’m not saying I’m sure about anything either. Probably what I need is a little advice. If you were me, what would you do? If you had the chance to travel and to earn at the same time, would you take it? Would you want to leave your home, for an opportunity a thousand miles away? There are so many risks, but if life didn’t have any, it won’t be called life now would it? - Diary End - Send me your advice - lite.walkergmail.com
When it comes to getting a tattoo we all know that it can be pretty pricey. With the economy getting worse everyday people have simply started to think twice about spending that money on something like a tattoo. Well it seems that a few tattoo studios came up with what they thought was a clever idea. These tattoo studios offered to give $30 Halloween tattoos all through the month of October. While this might be somewhat of a good idea, it can also be a bad idea. For instance, picking out a tattoo design is very important and it’s not a decision you should take lightly. However, if you are like me and love Halloween, than getting some sort of Halloween tattoo may not be such a bad idea. But if this would be your first tattoo I recommend holding out. Chances are if you got a pumpkin, black cat, skeleton, witch or some other Halloween character tattooed on your body as your first tattoo you will more than likely be regretting it before it even heals. But on the other hand if you are covered in tattoos and have a lot of them and you are trying to feed your addiction of getting tattoos than by all means go for it. The moral of this story is…if it sounds too good to be true than chances are it is. However, if these tattoo studios were to offer any old tattoo for $30 I would say what are you waiting for..head down there now. Just remember this tattoo will be with you forever so think long and hard before you decide to get inked. Your Tattoo Friend Ashley
Business writing differs significantly from article or academic writing. Business communication is generally in the form of reports, policies, instructions, procedures, memos, letters, orders or rules & regulations. Memos are business letters but only for employees & used within an organization. Memos are used to give information to employees such as changes in some procedures or rules, policy change or for specific purpose like request to attend a meeting. The format of the memo differs from business letter format. Memos generally contain sections like to, from, date, subject & text of memo. Points to remember while writing a memo: If you are sending memo to specific person, then you should write correct name of the reader. You can write job title along with name to make it more formal. Subject should not be vague or unclear. It should be brief & specific, which can give an idea about the purpose of the memo. Generally, memos do not contain salutation or complimentary closing. The text in text section of memo should be concise, clear, to the point. Avoid use of long and complex sentences that contain too much information. Short sentences make your message more readable and understandable. You can use headings & bullets to make your memo easy to read. First paragraph in text area or opening paragraph should contain background of the problem & purpose of the memo. Memo’s recipient should get an overview of the memo by reading the first paragraph only. In next paragraphs, you can explain the steps you have taken or methods and sources you have used to solve the problems. Last paragraph should be the closing segment, where you can request your reader to take an action to solve the problem. Some people use conclusion at the end of memo to summarize the content. Conclusions are also useful for suggestions and recommendations or if you wish to make a request to the reader. If there are any attachments, always mention at the end, after closing segment. Always proofread your memo before sending it. You can use software programs, which are available for business writing, for proofreading & to check and correct English grammar & spellings in your memo. Some software programs enrich your text with adjectives & adverbs, which enhances the simple sentence into more professional and sophisticated one & suggest context related synonym for repeated words.
