Background check has become an everyday process in any HR office in the land. Every time an applicant comes for an interview, background check is always expected to be conducted. For quite some years now, background checking has become an important tool for many companies to determine the credibility and capability of their prospect employees. The same procedure is what helps many businesses in awarding promotions to their employees. In schools, background check is an important tool to determine if a student has no derogatory record that might in one way or another affect the environment he/she is trying to join. All the more this process has become a government’s aide in choosing appointees for critical positions in the White House and other departments. Many people depended on background check as the presidential campaign was on the go. Many searches have been recorded in Google’s analytic tools which, Obama and McCain topped as keywords. This is no longer surprising as the internet provides much information of people, places, things, and situation which can let one think decisively according to the facts and figures he/she has just read. It has not been made a practice before but these days, background screening of politicians is simply taking wide acclaim. After the election of Sen. Obama to the highest office of the land, came followed the appointment of cabinet officials and other positions in the executive branch. The process is not so easy that until now, the line up of Obama’s team is not yet completed. There had been already some positions that have been filled up such as the White House Chief of Staff and the Secretary of State, but other positions as secretaries of the different positions are yet to be filled up. Representative Artur Davis of Alabama is among the many politicians and Democrats eyed by the Obama Transition Team that will hold a position in White House. But before he can be appointed extensive background check is going to be conducted on him. Though Davis did not in any way confirm the appointment he continues to dismiss the idea of joining the Obama team because of his plan to run as governor of Alabama. With his wide background and circle of friends, even the FBI is having second thoughts because the agency houses many friends of Davis. But, considering his history of service to the House and his constituents, chances are that if he accepts the nomination to be a secretary for Obama cabinet, background checks will never be a hindrance. Today, background search is not just a tool for ordinary employee but as well as to big politicians and celebrities aiming for a position in the government. As background search can give one an idea of the possibilities of fraud and other similar problems that might be done by the nominee, public service competence can be secured and that better administration is well assured. As of the moment, the Departments of Education, Housing and Urban Development, Labor, and Transportation has not yet filled in. Other’s departments are still moot and will undergo several processes still. Background check is mandatory process that is done to all nominees and candidates for any position in the cabinet before they can be appointed to the position.

Writing good sales copy is an art. Unless you’re a professional copy writer it takes a bit of crafting to compose a sales letter that drives huge sales. That doesn’t mean it can’t be done. The craft of writing sales copy that sells means effectively relating to your visitors, properly selling them on your product’s benefits and creating trust. Here are 8 secrets on how to write sales copy that’s sure to draw plenty of interest: 1. Use an Attention Grabbing Headline & Sub-Headline You sales copy must grab attention immediately or you can kiss them goodbye. Web surfers are skimmers so you need to draw them in quickly if you want them to continue reading. Your headline should be in bold fact type with words that create curiosity that persuades them to read further. Follow your headline with a sub-headline that highlights the best benefits of what your product is about. Use color to stimulate the reader’s senses by creating your headline and sub-headlines in different font colors. Test your headlines often. Changing just one word can increase a reader’s interest by over 1000%. Do this by creating a few good headlines and test them to find out which ones create the most interest. 2. Create a Unique Selling Proposition (USP) Your USP is your angle or sales position that you use to help your products stand out from the rest. For example, offering free delivery, a money back guarantee or a bonus offering can make you stand out among your competition. Offering something that helps you make your business ’special’ is what you need to find. Once you find it, emphasize it in your sales copy. 3. Prove Your Credibility The internet is full of false claims and untrustworthy scammers, so internet surfers want peace of mind that you are a trustworthy business and are going to make good on your claims. Additionally you will want to move out ahead of your competition. To accomplish this, your sales copy need to include the following: - Brief explanation of your background along with how and why you are knowledgeable in your field - Include testimonials from existing customers 4. Emphasize the Benefits Display proudly the benefits of your products. Do this with concise and to the point bullet points. There are items that convey how your product or service will benefit your potential customer. For example, let’s say you sell a running shoe that has a special arch support, the feature would be the arch support and the benefits might be more comfort and longer endurance. Effectively communicating the benefits will give you the edge over your competition. 5. Instill an Element of Fear Here’s where emotion can make an impression. Your reader has arrived at your sales letter because they need help. It may be to resolve a problem, make life easier, find more time, earn more money, whatever it is; they are looking to you as a possible solution. Determine what it is the reader will face if they don’t resolve their problem and spell them out in bold letters. 6. Include a Guarantee Always offer a guarantee. A buyer is much more likely to make a purchase if they know they can recover their money if not satisfied. It eliminates the risk to them. This means offering a 100%, no-hassles, no-questions asked, money-back guarantee. If you offer a quality product and project confidence in its value, you won’t have many returns. 7. Offer at Least one Good Bonus If you can over-deliver in value your customers are more likely to buy. Seal the deal by including a few good bonuses that make your product offer more appealing. 8. Initiate a Call to Action Make that call to action. Tell your visitors what to do. People want to be directed on where to go. For example, use phrases like: “For more information click here” “To get your free trial click here” “Order here” If you simply make a suggestion or make it hard for them to figure out what they should do next, you could potentially lose sales. 9. Include Your Personal Handwritten Signature In closing your sales letter, add your own personal handwritten signature. This adds a personal touch and projects a sense of sincerity. You can do this by scanning in your signature to a separate file and adding it to your sales copy. It’s also a good idea to include it on your website and/or blog. 10. Use a Postscript (P.S.) Below your signature include a P.S. that restates your main offer and add to that a ’special bonus’. Your special bonus should include a time limit. This adds urgency to your viewers buying decision. Studies have shown that after reading the headlines, a viewer will often skim to the bottom of the sales letter and read the P.S. first, so displaying your offer information along with a time sensitive bonus is not only appealing, it will also capture the skimmers. Make sure your order form includes the important elements. Key components of a super-effective order form include: • Headline • Customer Order Acknowledgement • Summary of the Offer • Summary of Guarantee • Order Options • Payment Options • Customer Information • Directive • Merchant order acknowledgement/ shipping details Begin to arrange them in sequence, beginning with the headline and following through to the order acknowledgement and shipping details. Arrange a layout that looks inviting and user-friendly to buyers. Make it easy for buyers to complete and move closer to their desired objectives. Once you have all the components in place, look at each individually to see what might be done to enhance it. Headlines could be made more powerful by suggesting how much closer the prospect/ buyer is to the major benefit he’s after. Now… the ultimate solution is just a click away. The secret to fitting it all in is to refine each component to its essential elements. Rewrite your customer acceptance statement until you have it down to a powerful sentence or two. Limit the number of words in your offer summary. Simply touch on the guarantee without the explicit detail already covered in the body copy. Ask customers for only the most important address information to ensure your product gets there. Keep the order form as simple and straightforward as possible. Group related elements together in a logical fashion. Your customer’s order acknowledgement should include the guarantee and major benefit as one component of the order form. The various products and bonuses that make up the offer is another component. Customer information, order and payment methods is yet another. When you group related items together in this way, it makes it much easier to organize the page. How you arrange the space on you order form can have a direct result on sales. It has to look appealing and easy to complete. Make it as easy as A-B-C. You must make the prospective customer comfortable — and put his mind at complete ease. To improve the effectiveness of your order form — simplify it. If you’ve got plenty of testimonials at your disposal, consider placing one into an opening on your order form. The best order form testimonial is the one that describes your prompt service or how your package is even bigger and better than the buyer ever dreamed. By this point in time, the buyer has already made the decision to buy… but he still might feel a little apprehensive. An added testimonial is one more bit of evidence to comfort the buyer and confirm in his own mind that the decision to buy is the right one.

As web writers we don’t make articles just to have them sit. We want hits! Based on what I have seen at Ezinearticles.com; bookwired.com; Ideamarketers.com and Article-Publicity.com, there are four key ingredients that get a article read, which the publishers and web masters will use, generating more hits to your ideas and your site. Here they are: 1. Formatting: If your article does not have proper formatting then it will look like a block of non-sense. The publishers and web masters will just leave. So your article gets two seconds of exposure when it could have been circulated around the globe. Along with formatting comes spelling and grammar. If you are writing for an English audience using non English writers for ghost writers you can expect the worst when publications refuse to acknowledge the work. Even though to you and your writer, it is grammatically correct and the spelling is fine, wordperfect and Microsoft Word are not the last say in grammar. However the publisher is, and he or she can see the difference. 2. Placement: The placement of an article on the front page always means more hits. Most sites will have your article placed on the front page for up to a day. The sites that allow you to bid a small amount to keep your site on the front always seem to work the best. There your formatted and grammatically correct article can get the views that it deserves. 3. Photographs: Photographs of you, the writer, or a logo (where allowed) or even a product draw attention to your article. Those articles seem do draw almost ten times the amount of views and distribution than those without them. So where possible get the best picture of yourself you can and place it wherever possible. 4. Title: The most important part of your article is the title. Most do not spent enough time on creating a good title. You need a title that has keywords in it, but it still must grab the attention of the reader. How to articles and tutorials will grab attention, but most of us do not create those types of articles. No matter what type of article or the category, “New Site name for your topic” is not as powerful as “Your topic creates Interactive Site for professionals” Time wasting sites: Out of 750 article directories over 75% do not post your article the same day it is received, over 50% are no longer active. Before you waste your time joining or posting or if you have someone else posting, check and be sure the site is active. To do this check the date of the last post. I found many that had not been active in months and about 30 more than said they were not accepting articles - yet the newest article was weeks old. These are time wasters for you and no one will see your article. Stop using those directories. Let them die without wasting your time. Ousted by the Republican party, after a narrow defeat in a referendum (51%), the monarchy is declared an anachronism so the Queen and Prince Consort decide to live out their exile in Italy. The former UK is now known as New English Republican Dominions (NERD). Follow their daily adventures as they live out their exile and as they become accustomed to the complicated social and political mores of Italy while following events and personalities back home. The Queen entered the sudy and kicked a piece of Christmas wrapping away with an impatient flick. The study was a mess- Maria had gone to Rumania with the result that no cleaning or tidying had been done since Christmas. The Press Secretary had been in Naples and was due back to-day. She sighed, thinking back with pleasure at the Christmas and New Year festivities and the wonderful food and wine they had had. They had been entertained royally by the Duke and Duchess of Gubbio. There had been a salmon terrine, followed by boiled meats, suffed chicken and delicious sauces. Not to mention the sweets- one was a fascinating mix of pasta and almond sauce and cooked in a pastry case. She had had two helpings of that, not caring a bit about her thickening waistline and PC had had three helpings! She picked up the Guardian and was pleased to note that there was a contest where one could win a House of Commons bottle of champagne if one guessed the actual date of Tony Blair’s departure ! It said ‘When will Tony go ? Get it right and win a bottle of champagne’. They must certainly enter for this contest- in fact she thought they should enter at least thirty times ! She was convinced more than ever that 2007 would be the year when she would return to take her throne again in triumph and that once Bolshie Blair was well out of the way, there would be a change of heart and there would be such a wave of nostalgia for the Royal Family that they would be swept back to power. ‘We three Kings of Orient are’ the Press Secretary sang as he entered the study. He was weighed down with parcels of panettone and other delights - chocolate delicacies of every shape and size which would feed his habit for the next two months. He was a chocoholic! “What’s on the agenda?” he asked pleasantly. She noticed that he looked a little plumper and his face had a reddish glow. Too much alcohol or was it the cold wind that was blowing to-day ? Hard to say and certainly she was not going to ask him! ‘We are going to win a bottle of champagne and 2007 is the year of Our Great Return!” she announced triumphantly. Article marketing is a powerful way to build traffic to your web site. Yet many people give up on article marketing after just a few articles because they are become stuck on what to write next. There are two ways to quickly come up with new articles. One is to brainstorm new topics. The other is to diversify by writing different types of articles .For more details visit to .article-strategy.com. Pick up any of your favorite magazines and you will see that they publish a variety of types of article. Here are four popular types of article you can write. The List Article This is one of the easiest types of article to write and that is one reason why it is among most common types of article published online. A list article lists several related pieces of information. Here are a few examples of a list articles: “10 Energy Saving Tips for Winter” “5 Fruits to Boost Your Body’s Resistance” “Asia’s Top 10 Honeymoon Destinations” “Natural Remedies for Insomnia” List articles need to have: - An introduction. - The list with a paragraph or two for each item. - A conclusion. The ‘How To’ Article A “How to” article explains to your reader how to do something. Examples of “How to” articles include: “How to Drive Traffic to Any Web Site for Free” “How to Keep Your Tomatoes Alive” “How to Install a New Hard Drive” “How to Download Unlimited Music Files Legally” This type of article is popular because people just love to learn how to do something new. The Review Article What is one of the main ways that people find out about which new products to buy, and which to avoid? They read review articles. A review article is the result of someone reviewing a particular product or service and then writing a review about it .For more information visit to .press-release-profits.com. There are several slightly different approaches you can use for review articles but here are the essential items that must be included: - What does the product promise? - How well does it deliver on that promise? - Is it good value and if so, who should buy it? The Roundup Article In a roundup article you provide a summary or roundup of information from a variety of sources. It can be a combination of general facts, statements, and opinions. For this type of article a writer will usually interview several experts, then round up the answers, something like this: “Michael Wet herby, Managing Director at Beckets Consulting, is confident his company will be able to cut three months off the project timeline as a result of using Piccadilly’s new software. “There is no doubt that it is going to reduce our development time by fifty percent”, he predicted. But Bill Petersen, at Drone Associates, is not so certain about the software’s efficiency. He explains why…” So, the next time you are struggling over what you could write next, take a fresh look at these different types of articles. I bet you could write some new types of articles on topics with which you are already familiar. By diversifying the types of articles you write your writing will develop a greater depth and there will be even more demand for your articles. .myarticle-submitter.com .reprintarticlesite.com

We all sometimes wonder why some people behave like “animals”. We even wonder where our own rages and wild feelings of chaos originate. Although we might find them unusual as they can conflict with our values, indeed, animalistic behavior is as much a part of us as our skin. While the skin is there to protect our inner organs and vessels, the animalistic behavior is there to protect the existence of the physical being—an outer skin of sorts. The physical realm of our being only has one objective: survival. In its rawest form, the body must remain intact and it will do so at any risk to its surroundings. Beat up the neighbor. Get food. Kick the dog. Procreate. Survive at all costs! It is never satisfied with anything. When the half-full glass is filled, it wants a bigger glass. Perhaps the Universe realized that it erred up by putting out an organism that would go so far as to kill and destroy just to get food. Imagine what would happen at fast food joints at lunch time! So, to balance the strength and instincts of the physical, the Universe developed the creative intellect of the soul. The souler being is easily satisfied and is bent on happiness, living, and enjoying. Or, was this blatant survival mode of the physical creation intended to behave as such to protectively house its souler component? Which one came first? I know this sounds like the old “chicken and the egg”, but indeed, it is a valid question to ponder. However, consider the variations to the ideas of the physical and souler interaction and existence. If indeed the body came first, then the soul is instantiated simply to control the instincts of the physical. But, if the soul came first, then each body is created solely for an individual soul to live, grow, and learn in this physical Universe. What a wonderful combination! A calm, cool, and collected soul to manage an out of control physical host. This means that the two are together for a reason, but are separate. In today’s world, by applying some of these thoughts, indeed, it seems that we tend to focus more on the physical because the thirst for physical fulfillment is unquenchable. However, while obtaining satisfaction for the soul is actually simple, we’ve been taught that “never the two shall meet” as our society readily concedes to the physical and rarely accepts the virtual, conceptual, non-physical realm of the souler. Is it beneficial to roam the world just surviving or do we want to live? To survive implies that a challenge exists in which we must survive. This is where the physical thrives—finding solutions that inhibit survival. If it is not fighting for survival, in its rawest form, it will find an issue to initiate the survival mode. We search. We hunger. We strive. We fight for everything that can fulfill the need to survive in the physical realm. In the end, out of the massive struggles to survive, we’ve learned nothing and have nothing except for the twisted feelings that we harbor and turn unto fears and new unhealthy components for our belief systems. However, to live by the souler implies a challenge-free life of free will—or does it? In the physical realm, we can only open doors we can touch. In the souler, we can examine possibilities and open doors that we never thought physically possible. This is because we’re delving into a non-physical realm in which we must evaluate, create, and establish our futures. Managing creative intellect and turning it into a physical reality can require effort, but it is much more rewarding in the end. Realize that there are two “yous”. There is your physical and your souler. The physical operates in black and white. The souler, in the full range of the spectrum. By allowing the souler to come to the surface, we allow the creative intellect of the Universe to rule as opposed to blatant survival instincts of the individual physical being. It takes effort as well, but the work is fulfilling because we satisfy the souler as well as the physical realms. Consider it as a hierarchy of control within your being. Satisfying the souler satisfies us as a whole and calms “the savage beast”. — About the Author — Edward B. The need for good proposals - the business kind, not the marriage kind - struck me again a couple of days ago, when I received a poor proposal. I had talked on the phone with a sales rep, and then she followed up with a proposal. You know what? Her proposal was even worse than her live sales pitch. It was a completely canned message, which wasted her time and mine. With that, some thoughts on creating effective proposals. Let’s start by dividing them into two categories: commodities proposals and differentiated (or value-added) proposals. If you sell commodities, your proposals will be relatively straightforward, as you compete on issues like price, delivery, and product characteristics. The buyer makes a relatively objective decision, and all other things being equal, he takes the best offer. That likely makes clarity your best proposal writing strategy. For example, if you have a significant advantage in one area, you might create a matrix showing the information in a table format for easy comparison. Turning our attention to proposals for differentiated or value-added products, we immediately notice an important distinction. There are no easy comparisons among vendors, as there are with commodity sellers. The buyer has to compare intangibles, which means subjective judgments. He can’t compare one marketing consultant with another, for example, unless he hires both, which he’s unlikely to do. Since we’re dealing with subjective judgments, it’s good to ask, “What goes on in the minds of buyers?” Solving a problem or exploiting an opportunity probably tops the list for most buyers. While the solution may not be immediately obvious, the need likely is plain to the buyer. And, that’s why many experts suggest that proposals address at least three specific areas: the problem, the solution, and the process (by which the solution takes care of the problem). It’s important to note, too, that proposals for differentiated products or services should not focus on you or your organization. Leave the kudos about yourself until you’ve covered the problem, solution, and process. And, make the part about you shorter than the first part of the proposal. Sophisticated proposal writers also know they can increase their chances of winning by carefully studying the buyer’s problem. By showing the buyer they understand the problem better than competitors, they give themselves an advantage. There’s another important distinction between proposals for commodities and differentiated products. In the case of commodity purchases, the buyer may not be the user of the product or service, likely reinforcing the objectivity effect. On the other hand, buyers who purchase differentiated or value-added products may be the users as well. In summary, be strategic when you write a proposal, thinking through what type of proposal you’re creating, and by addressing issues in the prospect’s mind. Robert F.
