If you ask me what is the one most important fact to look for in a university while planning to study abroad. ‘Accreditation’ is my answer, Hands down! Accreditation is now-a-days ‘the most important’ word while planning to apply for schools. Earlier I was of the view that scholarship providing schools or schools in big cities are the best options but I have started believing that, for a 2 year scholarship or for the sake of living in a big town, no one should or can afford to put the entire career in jeopardy. Accreditation decides your career and life in a major way when you are on a foreign soil. A friend of mine who was junior to me in medical school went to a non- accredited school in UK. After his graduation he was not considered for any jobs or higher study options. On the contrary, his classmates who were of British origin got jobs although they had a lower GPA. It does matter for an international student as natives have opportunities irrespective of the accreditation status of the school they went to. In common terms, accreditation is the official recognition of a school, university or institution for provision of satisfactory education, training or exam preparation. This in turn can help employers/ hiring agencies to know who they are hiring when you complete your education. Should an institution decide to procure accreditation, agencies mentioned below give opportunity to make choices, to exercise volition regarding accreditation. The process of accreditation requires the school to meet certain norms and criterion that are established by various regional accrediting agencies enlisted as follows- New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)Provides Accreditation to schools in- Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (NCA)Provides Accreditation to schools in- Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Navajo Nation, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA)Provides Accreditation to schools in- Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Central America, Europe, and the Middle East. Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS)Provides Accreditation to schools in- Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Latin America. Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)Provides Accreditation to schools in- California, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, Palau, Micronesia, Northern Marianas, Marshall Islands, and other Australasian locations. Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NWCCU)Provides Accreditation to schools in- Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. There is no legally designated accrediting agency in the United States and Europe. The only safe route in USA for applying to schools is a thorough consideration of the aforementioned agencies.I don’t deny the existence of numerous agencies in USA but the once which really are acknowledged widely are mentioned here.

Mont Blanc pens are famous the world over. For over a century these writing instruments have been identified by their exquisite shapes, beautiful designs, attention to detail and a quality second to none. Each pen carries the trademark white stylized six-pointed star with rounded edges, symbolizing the snowcap of the Mont Blanc mountain, which has been the emblem of the German Company from it’s inception. Montblanc was founded in 1906 by a Hamburg stationer. Initially known as the Simplo Filler Pen company, they changed the name to Montblanc in 1911. They have been manufacturing quality writing instruments ever since. Since the very beginning Mont Blanc has been producing many of the world’s most remarkable writing instruments. Without doubt, the most popular in the range of Mont Blanc pens are those in the Meisterstück line. Meisterstück is actually German for masterpiece and nobody can argue that the title doesn’t suit these legendary Mont Blanc pens. Each pen produced by the company over the years is a masterpiece, without exception. Mont Blanc have obviously gone on to establish new lines in their range, but so far none has surpassed the iconic status of the Meisterstück. Probably the most distinctive feature of the Meisterstück pen is the central inscribed ring, contained within two plain, thinner equidistant rings and traditionally made of gold. Real attention to detail in the manufacturing process makes Monc Blanc pens the most luxurious of fountain pens and legendary in the world of writing instruments. Now we come on to the new generation of Mont Blanc pens, led by the StarWalker collection. With a modern name and styling to match, with the StarWalker Mont Blanc still keeps to the tradition of producing pens of exquisite and matchless design with true master craftsmanship. The Starwalker pen collection, as with other ranges, comprises a fountain pen, ballpoint pen, mechanical pencil and a rollerball pen. These new Mont Blanc pens are innovative, stylish, practical and comfortable in use. Take it in your hand and you will never forget how it feels to write with, how it glides over the paper. The StarWalker is perfectly shaped and is a real pleasure to use. As with all Mont Blanc pens, the mood for writing is insatiable. When you open an account with an article directory, you are almost always asked to create an author name. Most people put their real name, but this can be a mistake in some situations. Why You Should Use Alternating Author Names Regardless of what, when and how you write, you must keep one thing in mind
April 4, 2006 Psa 119:110 KJV The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet I erred not from thy precepts. I saw a movie once called “The Thief of Baghdad”. Part of the plot was that someone was supposed to retrieve a black diamond hidden at the inside a cave at the top of a hollow mountain. The brave soul attempting the feat had to walk up a treacherous narrow pathway. On either side of the pathway were perilous traps and snares, such as treasure chests or beautiful women surrounded by deadly marshes with fierce animals. There were also distractions such as insulting voices hoping to provoke the treasure seeker into a fight and away from the straight and narrow path. A prince, sure of himself, was tempted by the golden chest, and barely made it past the beautiful woman. But when someone uttered an insult towards his family line, his pride got the better of him; he left the straight and narrow path and fell in the marshes. His servant, a humble soul, came to his rescue. He had seen the miserable vain promiscuous life of his wealthy master, so he was not tempted by the gold chest or by the beautiful women. He was of low birth so he could not argue against the truth when it was told that his father was a bastard and his mother a prostitute. Not only did he get the diamond, but he also rescued his foolish master. Our life is full of such scenarios. The enemy knows our weakness for wealth, vanity and pride. He has used these very elements from the Garden of Eden on. Oh what a protection we enjoy once we set the attitudes of our spirit in line with His. Let us follow today the teachings of humility and wholesome living as outlined in His precepts. Mat 5:3-10 KJV Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (4) Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. (5) Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (6) Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. (7) Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. (8) Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. (9) Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (10) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Teaching cursive in a homeschool setting is a joy. Setting your child off on a path of good writing will prepare your child for college essay writing and filling out applications for the workplace. Nothing makes a worse impression than sloppy or illegible handwriting. Homeschool students need to learn how to write properly. The first obstacle is proving to your homeschooler that handwriting is still a necessary skill. The personal computer has nearly made writing obsolete. The key word here is nearly. Although today’s students and workers spend most of their time hammering away at a keyboard, we still use cursive in dozens of situations. You can mention the above situations to your homeschool student. If he or she is still skeptical, you can remind them that we still have to jot down quick notes, memos, and write letters to friends. There are three main components that homeschool students must learn in order to master cursive: letter formation, letter size, and letter slant. Homeschoolers will need to learn these elements in that order. To teach letter formation, you can have your homeschool student focus on specific writing samples that showcase common mistakes in letter formation. Give them a spot on the page to rewrite the words correctly. When it’s time to move on to spacing, you can use a popsicle stick. Your homeschoolers can then study letter slant by actually adjusting the angle of their page and drawing lines through the middle of each letter. The more parallel these lines are, the better. Your homeschool students will be writing cursive in no time if you follow this guide. The benefit of a research paper is more than just having a ticket out of college. The mere process of writing it provides a training ground where one can develop the skills necessary for professional life. Life outside the university is more complex, so while inside, one should already prepare by facing the complexities of producing a respectable research paper. Furthermore, writing a research paper will allow one to learn the infallible truth that the world outside has its own rules and borders. The following Do’s and Dont’s will show why: Do think hard for a good topic. Only a few students will have a workable topic for their research paper at the beginning of their course. The majority will, most likely, remain oblivious of what they will write about until the formal start of their work. Talking to the professor works well for those who simply doesn’t have a clue of what could be a good topic. Reading books is also a good way to start. If one already has a general topic in mind, he should begin reading materials related to the field to narrow down his subject; after which, he should talk to his professor about it. Deciding a topic should be done at the earliest possible time to give ample time for research. Do not forget to have an engaging question. Usually a research paper answers why and how. Questions that begin with these two words are essential because they allow the author to make an argument. Why should we question the theory of evolution? Or How is it possible to alleviate poverty with education? Research papers that don’t have an argument asks boring questions. For example: Who started the civil war? An author who chooses questions that don’t begin with why and how will most likely produce a work that merely lists facts and dates. Do real research. Doing research involves more than just reading secondary books or taking information from the Internet. Real research, depending on the argument of the paper, means using primary sources like statistical data, foreign books, speeches or local newspapers. One can also arrange an interview with a prominent leader or a scientist, anyone he thinks can provide expert advice for his research paper. Do not fail to make an argument. A research paper is not a book report. One cannot just gather information from different sources, re-phrase paragraphs, and combine notes in order to produce an acceptable research paper. This kind of process will simply not work. An excellent research paper has all the evidence and data woven together to form a thought-provoking argument that attempts to answer the research question. Do write well. A well-written research paper presents all its powerful evidences and argument in a clear and coherent way. Footnotes and endnotes should accurately cite the sources, and tables and graphs should be properly presented in the body of the paper. An author should maintain a formal and serious tone if he wants his work to have an impact. Though one can formulate his own tips in writing a research paper, he can be sure that the rules written above are proven by many writers to be effective in producing an exceptional work. With great passion for writing, Jonathan Smith finds it fulfilling to do freelance writing although he already have a career in a marketing firm. He also work as a freelance editor for a custom research paper company. This 26-year-old’s enthusiasm in writing is deeply rooted in his parents, for his father was then a newspaper columnist and his mother a true-blooded novelist.
The Arrogant Writer: Five Ways to Nurture and Defend your Muse By Jill Nagle Arrogance has a bad rap. We think of arrogant people as unpleasant to be around, full of themselves, and incapable of taking an interest in anyone else. However, when applied to one’s own writing, a certain measure of well-placed arrogance can be a useful tool. Writing can be a scary enterprise. The writer puts herself out for public scrutiny in a way most other artists and professionals do not. When the writer publishes, she commits herself to the words she’s written for the rest of her life. Even if she changes her mind about what she’s said, others may still react to the piece decades after it first appears in print. This can make even the act of putting pen to paper (or more likely, fingers to keyboard) an anxiety-producing ordeal. Then there is the schooling most of us received, which treated writing as a chore rewarded when well done or punished when poorly done, as opposed to a pleasurable activity for ourselves and our readers. Very few of us had any audience for any the writing we did in classrooms, other than the teachers who instructed, criticized and graded us. It’s no wonder most writers suffer from self-doubt rather than overconfidence. We tend to underestimate ourselves and our words, even when they come from the most powerful places inside us, even when we get accolades from the outside world, and even long after we finally get published. Practicing selective arrogance can help disarm these nasty doubts. And, not to worry: If you are not arrogant to begin with, practicing the type of arrogance I suggest will not transform you into an insufferable braggart. Rather, it will help uplift you from the gutters of self-doubt onto the clean, dry road to getting published. Even if you do not feel in the least arrogant about your writing, you can still follow my simple instructions to act as if you do, with the same results: to get published, or to get published again. Selective arrogance does not mean thinking of yourself as any better than anyone else, or as having reached the pinnacle of your skills. Rather, it means treating every word you write as a precious baby worthy of the greatest care and nurturance. Here’s how to do that: Never, ever throw anything away, period. Carry with you at all times a means to record your creative thoughts. Record your creative bursts, even if other voices inside you are dismissing them with negative judgments. Trust your impulses and passions: if you feel drawn to write about something, write about it! Eschew impatience-give your babies the time they need to gestate. If you’ve read between the lines, you see that these instructions have you do nothing more than treat yourself and your writing with respect. However, because many people have a hard time doing even that, I counsel my clients to behave arrogantly. It gets them giggling and releasing the feelings they have about their writing, and makes it easier to find that respect. Although you may have read elsewhere to be prepared to throw away your first writing attempts, to release attachment to your early work and the like, nuggets of wisdom and creativity appear throughout a writer’s life from childhood through seniority. I advocate collecting and these and treating them with care, perhaps polishing them now and again. There is no magical moment when one suddenly becomes “a good writer.” Thus, your most novice scribblings become diamond mines. The one time I disobeyed my own advice and discarded what was I believed was possibly the most poorly written sentence in history (or at least my own history), I rejoiced. Five minutes later, I needed the gem in a new sentence, and struggled to reconstruct the one I’d discarded. May you never make that mistake-do as I say, not as I’ve done. These gems also shine through at unexpected times. This is why I advise my clients to carry at least some scrap paper and a pencil nub if not an electronic recording device. The times at night and in the mornings between wake and sleep often yield good raw material, so keep your recording device of choice bedside. The idea behind saving every little scrap, writing everything down and cultivating the arrogance to believe these activities matter is that finished pieces often assert themselves over time, forming a coherent whole from little scraps, like a Rorschach, or getting that crucial letter right in the Wheel of Fortune. The key is to keep feeding the collage and trusting that something or things will emerge over time. Not every sentence will necessarily lead to an essay, book or screenplay of its own. But some might add that missing piece to make a good piece great. Even tidbits that go nowhere for now still give your brain a chance to exercise itself and keep your creative pathways well-hacked. When it comes to choosing which pathway you’ll write your way down, trust your wild and wooly impulses. If you’re drawn to something, chances are you will make the subject come alive. You’ll seduce your readers by the very fact of your relationship to the material. Finally, give your pieces the time they need to develop. Being an arrogant writer means honoring the gestation period your writings must pass through to be born into the world healthy and ready to engage readers. Honoring this gestation period may mean asking for help. Just as the dedicated gardener finds the right soil, fertilizer, seeds, watering schedule and equipment, so the arrogant writer finds her coach, buddy, copyeditor, ghostwriter, or colleague’s expert eye. I have seen writers move from stagnation to publication with the right combination of assistance. I love being part of that process. Writing a PhD dissertation is an extremely lengthy task. It requires and demands originality. You must discuss a problem which was not investigated earlier and therefore should be unique. In this article, I am going to discuss three common things that students should know when they start writing their dissertations. PhD Dissertation Related to Master’s Dissertation? Your PhD dissertation doesn’t have to be related to your Master’s dissertation at all. If you have written your dissertation on a particular topic in your Master’s program and would like to choose a completely different topic for your PhD dissertation then you may do that. It’s not a problem at all. You should actually aim to choose a different topic for your PhD dissertation because when you start your PhD and get ready to write your dissertation, you might not be interested in your Master’s dissertation topic. However your Master’s dissertation can be a starting point for your PhD dissertation but it is a significantly different and focused work which demands originality and uniqueness. Dissertation Topic: Write your PhD dissertation on a topic that you find interesting and in which you want to become an expert. Then try to slowly narrow it down. If there is a particular topic that can make you scream with happiness whenever it’s discussed, go for it. Also, choose a topic that will give you an edge when you are ready to apply for a job. Do consider the job market. So, talk to your advisor and professors about it. It Should Take As Long As It Should: There is no hard and fast rule that you should finish your PhD dissertation in 4 years or 5 years. However, some universities might ask to finish your degree within 8 years. If you are dedicated and focused then you should be able to finish writing it in 12 months. But if you are required to observe something for 2, 3 years or more then of course you can’t finish it in a year. Remember, you can’t afford to sacrifice the quality of your dissertation just to complete it early. If you have a definite plan and you stick to it then you will finish your dissertation much earlier than you think. Your PhD dissertation has to be new and should be about something never researched before. It is not an easy task but it’s not impossible either. Stay away from copy-pasting and stay in touch with your advisor and professors. Make a plan and stick to it, you will be done before you know it!! “And then what?” I find myself asking that question a lot lately as entrepreneurs and speakers approach me about getting a book done. We usually get to a point in the conversation where I ask the person what they want to happen after they get published. They’ll often say something like, “I really just want to get the book out there.” Okay, we can do that, I say. “And then what?” I ask the question because these days, especially where a business is concerned, you’re leaving a lot of opportunity
