In a world without rules except that of nature we must expect anything. The morning we leave the area of Beyla we face the next stretch of bad road, and see the same old scenery of rain forest, by now a regular sight. Long, unbelievable potholes slow us down and make our journey a hell, once again. My heart always jumps at the sight of a pothole which is as large as a swimming pool, though not as deep, which turns out to be our Savior. We make it slowly through the forests, the roads in unbelievable condition, slightly better than in Roman times. Sometimes driving at 10 mph, I think how long it will take me to reach Kankan, today’s final destination. No time to stop for a rest, just to get out of this jungle is my only thought, for I am slowly but steadily getting tired of this menacing place. I cannot see the beauty of the forest, the sometimes appearing rice paddies. It is getting stale to my eyes, I am possessed by one thought, to get out finally and find my truck and passengers. I reach the French Cotton plantation with the ginnery in the afternoon and I know that I am not far from my destination. Another checkpoint at the entrance of Kankan, this time much more subtle than in the southern part of the country. Tired and completely slugged out I pay and pass through till I enter the city of Kankan, the largest in the north of Guinea. At the time the Renault truck left its home, one agreement was struck. When nothing is heard for 3 weeks - meet us in Kankan. Neither knew anything about the city, the sheer size would indicate that some facilities are available. A decent Hotel, shower, AC, this is what I long for after days of driving through uninhabitable territory. Sometimes you feel like an explorer, for many hours not a soul on the road. What a view to see people, moving in cars, going after their business, shops, vendors, the whole lot. Joy comes up and the thought of a hot bath does the rest. When I roll into the town, I am overcome by some deja vu. No one can explain this. And I know that in this remote city I will come across something that I expect to find here. The exhaust system has suffered greatly on the road, and during the last 100 km a bolder has ripped of the muffler. The sound of the car is like a stock car in the great price of Indiana. I find the first mechanic welder and he does the job in minutes. When I ask for directions to the next hotel, I am guided through the city’s only main road. Hotel Bate is not far away, I am told. The main square comes close, and I slow down instinctively, as always to be watchful not to hit anyone crossing the dusty main street, a self protecting measure. For the unlucky one that hits a jaywalker could be lynched if he is unlucky. My luck has brought me through all the perils and dangers one can face. I search the streets carefully, the roads to see a familiar face. Nothing has crossed my eyes so far. When we reach the main communication center with the telecoms office and huge transmission tower, I suddenly hear my name being shouted from across the street, the familiar voice is all too known. I have found my employee who comes to me and hugs me like a long lost brother, and I can understand the emotion. Finally we are reunited, after nearly 4 weeks of uncertainty, anxious moments have come to an end. We are in Kankan, Guinea, after all, the city where we have planned to meet…. Next : The relaxation, and retrieval of the vehicle….. ..

I wrote an article about anxiety about 3 weeks ago and this is the second installment of my anxiety series. To refresh you memories I suffered from my first anxiety attack way back in 1985 when I was the manager of a health club in southern Minnesota. Life was looking good for me but at the time of the attack I didn’t know what an anxiety attack was. I’d heard of them but it was never a concern for me. Or so I thought. Just so you know I call myself a multiplictic sclerictic for laughs. I stayed in the health club business until 1987. My favorite owner had went bankrupt and the new owner taking charge was OK but he knew nothing of the health club business. I could see myself getting squeezed out of a job so I retired before I got released from my duties. So I moved to Minneapolis, bounced around a couple of menial jobs and in 1989 started a carpet cleaning business. One of my menial jobs was as a carpet cleaner. I was also selling some carpet cleaning jobs. After doing this for five months I decided that if I can clean and sell for another person I could certainly clean and sell for myself. I decided in May of 1988 I would borrow $30,000 and get a state of the art truck mounted carpet cleaning van! I was nervous as you might expect. I didn’t have one job lined up to clean but I had a fancy brand new truck to clean with. lol I didn’t really know the finer things about carpet cleaning but I winged it. I ended up winging it for five years until my anxiety and multiple sclerosis made the decision to sell and get out while I still had some health. At the peak of my business I had four other men cleaning carpets for me around the clock. This allowed me to stay in the office and do marketing and scheduling for the business. Things were going well! But I remember one particular day in the late summer of 1991. I’ll never forget it! This was the first anxiety related problem that I remember having since my health club days. I’d just gotten diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in July of 1991 so it must have been early August when this anxiety attack occurred. I did alot of driving for my carpet cleaning business because I had to give potential customers bids on their jobs. I concentrated mainly on restaurants and apartment building cleaning. On this particular day I was driving to a bid when all of a sudden the strangest thing happened. It felt like someone had lit a match to my toes. The tingly feeling went from my toes to my feet and continued up my legs. It then went to my belly, upper body, neck and finally my head! It felt like I was on fire but I wasn’t! I remember it felt so strange that I pulled off to the side of the road. The strange feelings ended in about 15 minutes. My mind was whirring with ideas and thoughts about what this could be? I didn’t know what had just happened to me. I remember thinking to myself, “if this is my MS then MS isn’t going to be much fun”! I had a very easy workday on that particuliar day so I made the executive decision to take the rest of the day off. I went home and layed down and just rested and watched TV for the rest of the day. I made sure my employees were cleaning the carpets that I’d already scheduled to clean and I just relaxed! I also remember a cold sweat, some tingling and being light headed. I never thought that an anxiety attack had just occurred. Back in 1991 people didn’t know much about anxiety attacks. But in hindsight that is what I’d had. I rested for a couple of hours and started to feel better. I stayed at home that day wondering what part of multiple sclerosis this was and if I would always have attacks like this for the rest of my life! None of the MS doctors I’d talked to or things I’d read about MS ever said anything like this would happen. What the heck could this have been? As I sat there mulling this over all I was doing was making my anxiety problem grow even more. It wouldn’t be a problem for the rest of that day. However, soon afterward I would have other anxiety attacks. I still didn’t know what they were or why it was happening to me! It wasn’t until I saw an MS counselor later that fall that told me about nervous illness or anxiety attacks that I became aware of what was happening to me. I also learned about something that would be a part of my life that I still argue with to this day! I have so many more anxiety stories to tell so stay tuned for more to come. Newborn baby gift baskets can be a fun affair to indulge in. The best part about designing baby gift baskets is that you don’t have to be limited to only a few ingredients, and you can gift the baby everything you have ever wanted to, without being too conscious about it. Another good thing about baby gift baskets is that it can be focused on a particular theme or gender. Baby boy gift baskets are particularly chic. With baby boy gift baskets, one can experiment more and there are some really expensive baby gift baskets that can be made for a baby boy. The first thing you need to decide upon while designing your own baby gift basket is the size of the basket. Things like your budget constraints and the number of ingredients and supplies you want to include in your gift basket will play a major role in deciding the size of the basket. It can be a small, three articles basket, or a large basket containing more than 20 items, depending upon how much you want to include and how much you are willing to spend. After deciding upon the size of the basket, you should decide upon the ingredients and the theme. The gender of the baby and the preferences of the parents would play a major role in deciding the ingredients and the color combination of the basket. If the basket is being designed for a baby girl, you might want to revolve the design around pink color, whereas in the case of a boy, more dull and sober colors, such as blue, black and brown should be used. The ingredients might include assorted supplies, or supplies pertaining to a particular theme. You can choose the items of the baby boy gift baskets from a lot of areas, especially clothing, bathing accessories and wooden toys. Expensive baby gift baskets might contain jewelry made out of precious metals, and even diamond if you are willing to spend that much. Lockets containing the baby’s photograph and birth date and time would be good additions to newborn baby gift baskets. Jewelry is one thing that would last forever, and keeps the memories alive for years to come; therefore, investing in gold and diamonds especially can leave an everlasting impression on the baby. Interestingly, many expectant parents are buying expensive jewelry for their children to be. Jewelry is also being looked at as an investment avenue, and therefore, parents feel that this will be a saving stream for their child, because of the increase in the cost of precious metal on an annual basis, especially gold. Well thought out gifts can be a wonderful, yet unique way of expressing that you care. Expensive baby gift baskets may also contain long term savings bonds, fixed deposit schemes and baby insurance plans apart from expensive and ornate jewelry items. All these are bound to keep your baby in a good stead in the future. Remember, expensive baby gifts are not only meant to be squandered away by your child, they can be really thoughtful and useful for the child when he grows up. This author lives in Hampton, NJ with her husband and 5 month old daughter and is an expert contributing author for a luxury baby baskets boutique offering variety of baby gift baskets, wholesale baby gifts, handprint footprint kits and more.

Writers approach Stream of Consciousness writing strictly as a personal exercise. This literary phrase means different techniques of discovery to different writers. Some students of writing believe it is somewhat kin to Psychic writing, or Automatic Writing, when a foreign spirit inhabits the writer’s body. (Twilight Zone theme music in the background?) They find themselves saying all kinds of things on the page, most of it unrelated and scattered in concept. Truly, much of the text in Stream of Consciousness writing, however weird or silly it becomes, may not be of much use. But somewhere within the Stream of Consciousness experience, there is a phrase or thought, which piques the imagination and proves curiously inspiring. Another thing can occur: Stream of Consciousness writing, if it comes on strong, with a peculiar tone that does not flake out but remains consistent, can be highly accomplished and fascinating work. The sentences may be fragmented, but that seemed to help Harlan Ellison’s early novels in the Science Fiction genre, which flowed in the spirit of Stream of Consciousness, to create a totally new area of fiction. If a character or a voice wants to be heard, and wants to use you a vehicle, and you agree and enjoy the exhilaration of moderate or questionable control in the writing of that voice or character, you should go ahead with it. You don’t have to be a vehicle for Seth, the main character in the series of fabulous nonfiction Spiritualist visitation books that took the world by storm in the 1980’s. Seth first came to the nonfiction writer through a Ouiji Board, but soon he would enter her body the moment she removed her reading glasses. It appeared that Seth himself, the visiting entity, did not need the reading glasses. The correct term, among Psychic circles, for this experience is Automatic Writing. In strict definition, the subject and writer, must experience a trance state wherein they write. When the writers exit the trance, they do not remember any of the writing of the visiting spirit. Houdini would say, “PURE HOKUM!” But Sir Authur Conan Doyle of Sherlock Holmes fame was a pure believer of Automatic Writing and all things mystical. Most Stream of Consciousness exercises require that you be truly conscious, and not in a trance state. Actually, the more active your imagination is, and the more flexible it is, with a fully functional right brain/left brain balance, the more useful the exercise will be for you. Some contemporary board members of project committees embark on Brainstorming sessions. A mass of high-speed generated ideas and concepts bounce off one another creating friction and newer brighter ideas. Brainstorming is not the same thing as Stream of Consciousness composition, which is a solitary endeavor. One of the first things for you to forget about in Stream of Consciousness writing is form. Do not concern yourself with sentence patterns or grammatical correctness. This exercise is all about Ideas and the development of unexpected, unplanned content. These days, the research tool of academic research is the Internet. The problem is that it has become too easy for anyone to leave the digital mark - not necessarily a good thing when you are looking for trusted, authoritative information. This little guide will show the strategies to discern good, quality information from filler. Tip #1: Look at the web page design. There are two ways at interpreting web page visual appearance without reading the information on the page. If the page is design is exceptionally good, filled with gradients, flash presentations, animated graphics, sparkling colors, neon lights and smiley faces

A top unborn in the unfledged media effort (and specifically, graphic delineation) depends on choosing the spot on school. As a graduate student in this field myself, I resolve be adept to provender you with the uncompromised best information single can make an impression on in regards to this topic.

1. Territory of Converge

The essential thing that you requirement to separate fro schools of this creation is that they are designed with everybody under the sun in upbraid, and that means people customary into the program may have completely no experience. In my case, they asked for a portfolio of m‚tier as role in of the divulgence process. So, if you are self-taught and enthusiastic to solidify your already existing knowledge, or a thorough beginner, this is a well-mannered election with a view you. If, in any event, you force already completed a similar program, you may choose to weather a new program no more than to upgrade your skills (because the battleground of contemporary media is perpetually changing). If you can, it indeed, actually, positively helps if you opt for a freehand drawing course late to lore how to unsheathe using a computer.

2. Recognition

- Does the school participate in any graphical arts competitions?
- Be dressed students adept anything of reknown in the industry?

3. Teachers

Trust me, this doesn’t discarded without saying. The quality of your education resolve be directly coordinated to the instructors. I be experiencing never encountered an adviser that wasn’t immensely knowledgeable on every side the impose on area. Of course, there is a successfully difference between meaningful the dominate area and being able to teach (that is, to convey that information, and administer students, retort questions, etc).

4. Job Position

100% turn sure that you fetch into a program that incorporates on-the-job experience. Or at least a practicum. This in the main is 100 hours of valid on-the-job familiarity and it is definitely expensive to your career.

5. Curriculum And Tools

You requirement assess whether the curriculum is relevant to you field of study Colleges Illinois. You may covet to approach the curricula of different schools to perceive which offers the a- variety of education. As it so happens in my for fear of the fact, the charge did something they have not at all done forward of: changed the curriculum halfway on account of the program. The reasoning behind this was that the software we were scheduled to be instructed in would promptly be discontinued on the Mac. It actually pays remote if you can see the facilities beforehand so you comprehend what tools they are using. Don’t just oogle at the computers, snoop enveloping and know the programs directory and play-act note of what programs are installed, and if they are the latest versions.

6. Student to Guru Correlation

Photographic cabal is style of an industry that more or less demands close contributions on every project. For the purpose this acceptable, you can’t good be known as the photoshop lampoon, it is your onus to be well versed in a part of distinct programs and techniques an eye to creating stunning graphics and illustrations. And that means you inclination definately have occasion for one-on-one instruction, or at least the faculties to stop the excellence in container you fix it lost. These programs are very fast-paced and if you don’t induce sure-fire you fully cotton on to concepts in the first semester you wish reach hopelessly exhausted - fast.

7. Accreditation

Accreditation means the ready has passed a standard standards of educational quality. If you can, ask as a service to truly everyone blink of the pate departments time and bring to light into public notice a listing of companies that students take been hired into.

8. Set someone back

A unrestricted tuition in unambiguous create can price anywhere from 13,000 to 16,000 dollars for the benefit of an intensive one-year program (120 credits). The goal here is to bring to light a university, college, or technological institute that is recognized internationally to go to excellence. Discharge’s face it, Harvard University ordain look a countless better on your carry on than Texas Community College. Three excess recognized schools in are BCIT located in Vancouver Canada (Vancouver is the equivalent of Hollywood in the course of realistic designers, net designers, and all experimental media experts), the Artistry Institute (with locations worldwide), and the Vancouver Cloud Style (VFS) that has graphic sketch out programs that are danged specialized.

9. Scholarships

You weight yearning to consider whether the design form you are looking at offers any scholarships. You also potency hanker after to know the terms to them too. Some schools put up for sale scholarships based on speculative performance. Some submit them based on craft competitions they relevant regularly. You should prepare pro a civil evaluator advance either way, and repayment is exceptionally affordable.

In the first Element post, I shared some pretty general ideas, it might have seemed like I was just rambling along and taking potshots at whatever came to mind. But there was a purpose, it seems that some people who are impressed with their station in life get the idea that if they make enough noise, people around them will differ to their way of thinking. And for some reason those same people seem to get away with it. On the world stage for example, there are a group of people of Arab decent that seem to want nothing more than the disruption of life on every front; regardless of even what they pledge themselves to. To be specific, I speak of the group known as Hamas who in my opinion are nothing more than street thugs in the guise of “Holy War“, there is absolutely nothing I can see about them that is “Holy”, they agree to a truce, then within hours of the truce being ratified, after the Jews step back from the firing line and start the fighting again for no apparent reason other than to just kill. These are Palestinians, what do you expect from a people who’s “Nation” did not exist prior to 1946. Please do not misconstrue what I have said, I do not hold the complete nation of Islam responsible for the action of a very few who claim religious zeal as a cover for murder and mayhem. How can one believe that religion could be the basis for genocide, though throughout the years of man’s reign on the earth, that is exactly what happens. Religion is a human based philosophy to give some semblance of respectability to what usually turns out to be abhorrent behavior when carried to an extreme. There is nowhere in any “Book of Faith” that I have ever seen where murder is glorified. This has only come about through the mechanisms of man when he adds to these books. These people who are also called “Terrorists” are nothing more than murderers and liars and should be treated as such. There was a time in my life when I would have thought nothing of going where they are and heaping terror on them with no regrets, no quarter asked, none given. But, it is not the individual that holds the rifle or drives the bomb on wheels that deserves all the blame, the ones responsible are the ones who put the rifle in the hands of the terrorist and the ones who supply the ingredients for the bombs that go into the cars. These are the ones who deserve no mercy; these are the ones I hold responsible. But the worst part of the whole thing, is that these people who send out the suicide bombers and the hooded murderers are a few years later voted Man of the Year, case in point Yasser Arafat, need I say more or has history been rewritten to please a few? In my next post, we will look a little more closely at other incidents of a similar nature. Until then D-Man
